Azadirachtin is the most active insecticidal component found in neem seeds. It works on contact or by ingestion, by repelling insects, deterring insect feeding and egg laying, and as a growth disruptor. Known as an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR), azadirachtin prevents insects from molting (shedding their exoskeleton) between life stages. It is highly effective on most early life-stage insects (larvae) as well as soft-bodied insects like aphids and whiteflies. Using 1% crop oil or another surfactant with azadirachtin generally enhances effectiveness. Atrevia 3.0% SL (3% Azadirachtin) is an equivalet of AzaGuard with a lower cost/acre.
