Deliver, Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki (Btk) strain SA-12, is a combination of solids, spores, and active toxins. It has a higher concentration of protein toxins than most other Bt products. When the larvae ingest the toxins and/or spores, they stop eating within an hour and die within a couple of days. A high pH in the gut of the pests is required for activation of toxins and spores. Deliver is not harmful to humans, wildlife, beneficial insects, and pollinators. Since Deliver is most effective against small, newly hatched larvae, an early scouting program to determine early infestations is recommended.
